So I'm cleaning this pool the other day and it's one of my favorites really. I love this pool, it has all kind of great landscapes around it with cool rocks, and a few water falls to add to the scenery. It truly is one of my favorites. And here I was cleaning away, making sure that I get every last bit of the pool dust that was collecting on the sweep out where the stairs come into the wall area on the deep end. And boom! Out comes this dead rat floating from the edge. Yuck! I can't believe rats like the swimming pools here in Redding. They act like there is no other water around when we've had such a wet season and all. Funny, I had to go grab my net, fetch the stinky slimy rat out, toss it into the field nearby, soak my net in bleach, clean my hands with sanitizer, then test the water for any bacteria, nope clear! Then I "over shocked" the pool with a good dosage of chlorine just in case my H20 testing kit missed something. Phew! Twenty minutes later I was scrubbing again and this time with a bit of extra caution. Well, poor rat, I wonder if he just thought it was a nice pool too! |
